LIKECHARITY Wins Supplier of the Year at the Fundraising Ireland Awards!!

LIKECHARITY are delighted to have won Supplier of the Year at last night’s Fundraising Ireland Awards!

It’s been a hectic year and a half for our little company and we are delighted that our SMS service has become a staple of Irish fundraising campaigns.

Over 150 Irish charities, big and small, now use the LIKECHARITY text-to-donate platform free of charge. Since our creation in January 2013 we have raised over €2.5 million for the Irish charity sector. Our ambition to bring out the natural generosity of the nation has been made reality as over 500,000 Irish people have donated to charities through our text donation service, that’s 15% of the adult Irish population.

‘LIKECHARITY’s aim has always been to make fundraising more effective and efficient for charities,’ says COO John Kyne, ‘and we have achieved this by making donating quick, rewarding and simple for the public. We’ve been told time and time again that the Irish people are among the most generous in the world and over the last year our service has proved that. We’re really honoured to have our efforts recognised by the sector through this Supplier of the Year award’.

LIKECHARITY was the service provider responsible for harnessing the mass public response to several of the major charitable campaigns in the last year including Majella O’Donnell’s head shave live on the Late Late Show and the viral ‘No Make-Up Selfie’ campaign that gripped the nation in March, raising over €1 million for breast cancer awareness in less than a week (check out our own celebratory selfie). Our charity partners use text donation for social media campaigns, to fundraise for specified causes and to support their larger, existing campaigns.

Things continue to get better and better as our Dublin based office continues to bustle with DRTV projects for home and the UK, and our US office is now up and running. We’re all delighted that the charity sector appreciates our service, a huge thank you to everyone at Irish Cancer Society in particular for nominating us for this award! And of course to Fundraising Ireland for a wonderful night.

That trophy is looking very much at home on our fireplace!
