The Irish Cancer society works with LIKECHARITY to raise over €550,000 through Majella O’Donnell’s appearance on The Late Late Show.

Everyone at LIKECHARITY was delighted by the amazing reaction following Majella O’Donnell’s appearance on The Late Late Show on Friday the 13th of September. Majella raised over €550,000 in an emotional charity drive for The Irish Cancer Society by having her hair shaved off live on the show.  A huge part of the funds raised (€485,000) were collected through the LIKECHARITY platform. Viewers of the show were asked to text ‘Pink’ to 50300 to donate €4 to the cause.

Mrs. O’Donnell broke down when she was told the next morning just how much her appearance had raised. She stated that the final figures exceeded her wildest expectations, as she had initially hoped to reach €10,000. Ryan Tubridy stated that the reaction received on the Late Late Show was the greatest he had seen in his time presenting the programme. The Irish Cancer Society described the scale of the response as “phenomenal.” Gráinne O’Rourke Communications Manager with the Irish Cancer Society said that the volume of respondents was enormous and donations continued to flood in throughout the weekend.
